{"id":959,"date":"2016-07-05T17:37:21","date_gmt":"2016-07-05T15:37:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.lsv.ens-paris-saclay.fr\/topology\/?p=959"},"modified":"2022-11-19T15:24:49","modified_gmt":"2022-11-19T14:24:49","slug":"galway-colloquium-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.lsv.ens-paris-saclay.fr\/topology\/?p=959","title":{"rendered":"Galway Colloquium 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I will be at the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/summertopology\/galway-colloquium\">Galway Colloquium<\/a> at Leicester, UK, on Monday, August 1st, 2016.\u00a0 I will give an introduction to T<sub>0<\/sub> topology and domain theory there, aimed mostly at students in mathematics.<\/p>\n<p>I will try to illustrate some of the key concepts in the field by progressing through a proof of Dana S. Scott&#8217;s theorem (1972) that the injective T<sub>0<\/sub> spaces are the continuous lattices. This will be an opportunity to touch various subjects: dcpos, the specialization ordering, Sierpi\u0144ski space, retracts, Stone duality, sober spaces and sobrification, b-spaces and algebraic posets, c-spaces and continuous posets, notably.<\/p>\n<p>Have a look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsv.ens-paris-saclay.fr\/~goubault\/SummerTopologyConference2016\/galway-no-solutions.pdf\">slides<\/a>!
